All day, 12am to 11:59 pm

History is being made in York County on May 4 with the first ever Give Local York, a 24-hour giving spree to benefit York County nonprofits… and the Susquehanna Folk Music Society!

Donations to SFMS through Give Local York support the inaugural Susquehanna Folk Festival— an exciting two-day folk music, dance, storytelling and craft festival coming this July to beautiful Roundtop Mountain Resort.

Bring instruments, voices, and listening ears! Old-time band “Late for Supper” will lead musicians of all types and skill levels in a fun jam session celebrating #givelocalyork and giving a sneak peek of what’s to come at the Susquehanna Folk Festival.

Food stands will also be open for you to enjoy some delicious dining choices.

About Give Local York

This is Give Local York’s first online giving event! The goal is simple: inspire York Countians to come together, show pride in their community, and contribute to support the life-changing work of local nonprofits.

On May 4 — whether you’re at the jam, or present in spirit — visit SFMS’s page and make your donation. (We can also accept checks; see below.) Any donation you make will be matched as much as dollar-for-dollar through the generosity of the Cultural Alliance of York County and area businesses. All donations benefit the Susquehanna Folk Festival. Make your online donation between 12am and 11:59pm EDT to participate.

About Late for Supper

Late for Supper is an old-time band that plays driving fiddle tunes and sing old songs in three part harmony. Barb Schmid (fiddle) and Todd Clewell (guitar) are joined by Jim Jones on guitar and Mike Foster on bass for this Give Local York jam session. Read more at Todd Clewell’s website.
