Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Susquehanna Folk Festival.

AS YOU PREPARE

How can I get tickets?

Please visit our Tickets page for pricing, how to purchase, and what's included.

How should I pack for the festival?

Plan for hot weather, slightly cooler at night. Consider bringing sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, comfortable shoes, a flashlight, rain gear. You may choose to bring your own lawn chair, blanket, or canopy.

Is the festival rain or shine?

Yes, the show will go on if it rains. All stages and seating are under tents or indoors.  Dress for the weather!

Is the festival site accessible to persons with disabilities?

Yes, the festival is fully accessible, and we are happy to help everyone enjoy all the festival offers. For questions and special accommodations, please contact us, in advance if possible. 

Are there reserved seats at the festival?

No, seating is first come, first served. Please be fair to others and do not put items on seats to save them while visiting other areas of the festival.

Should I bring a lawn chair or blanket?

All stages have seats, but you may bring your own chair or blanket. You are welcome to check your chair in the instrument check area, during any part of the festival or overnight.

Are canopies allowed?

Yes, canopies are allowed in Minuteman Field near the Main Stage. Please set up your canopy so it doesn't block others' view. 

Can I bring my dog?

Probably not. Certified assistance dogs are welcome; no other pets are allowed at the festival.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

When does the festival gate open each day?

The festival gate opens at 6:30pm on Friday evening, and at 10:30am on Saturday and Sunday.

Where do I park? Is there a shuttle?

The festival has ample free parking, with handicapped parking right next to the lodge. A shuttle runs to and from the farthest parking lot, which is a five minute walk from the lodge. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a flashlight.

WHILE YOU'RE THERE

What is Secure Instrument Check?

It's a place to securely stash items you'd rather not carry: your accordion, your cooler, or the thingy you bought at the Marketplace!  It's near the Coffeehouse on the lodge's ground floor.

What if I need medical attention at the festival?

EMTs will be available during the festival. In case of emergency, see a volunteer with a yellow vest.

Can I use credit or debit cards?

Yes, for food, beverages, festival merchandise and CDs. Some Marketplace vendors may accept cash only.

Where's the Lost & Found?

The Mercantile crew keeps up with Lost & Found. Items left behind after the festival will be donated to local charities.

What if I get hungry or thirsty while at the festival?

See our Food & Drinks page for all these details. And yes, you can bring a cooler.

Is smoking allowed at the festival?

Generally not. The smoking area is near the Festival Marketplace.  Smoking or tobacco products are not allowed elsewhere on the festival grounds.

What kinds of family activities will you have?

We aim to be one of the most family-friendly festivals you will ever come to, with hands-on activities and crafts, kid-friendly performers and more. Check out the schedule at the Family Zone!

What items are NOT permitted on the festival grounds?

  • firearms
  • pets/animals (except certified assistance dogs)
  • unauthorized video or audio recording
  • glass containers
  • drones
