Indian Summer Jars

The three members of Indian Summer Jars sit with their instruments (accordion, guitar, voice) on a large fallen tree.

Indian Summer Jars is a vibrant alternative folk band that features dynamic vocals, gorgeous vocal harmonies and uplifting songwriting.  We're thrilled to welcome this favorite local band back to the festival.

Indian Summer Jars creates a sound that is unique and upbeat, dynamic and bold.  Expect high energy performances with harmonies and vocals reminiscent of the Indigo Girls and Natalie Merchant.  With creative guitar tunings and strong, earthy rhythms, ISJ brings you songs inspired by travel, discovery, growth and transformation.  There is no doubt this music will stir your soul!

The band consists of songwriter Sara Beth (guitar, mandolin, harmonica and lead vocal), Jenn Hara (vocals), and Jason Whetstone (accordion, pennywhistle and vocals).

ISJ has had radio airplay and recognition by NPR and Virginia Tech Radio WUVT FM.  Sarah Beth's songwriting has received awards from SFMS (2009) and Philadelphia Songwriter's Project (2012).
