Slim Harrison returns to the Susquehanna Folk Festival with the “Sunnyland Band”, a participatory Jugband where kids get to play along on such fun instruments as washboards, spoons, washtub bass, jugs, skiffleboards, limberjacks, and stumpf-fiddles!
Slim Harrison is a seasoned professional, touring regionally, nationally and internationally. He performs American roots music on fiddle, banjo, mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, resophonic guitar, mandolin, jaws harp, mouth bow, autoharp, fiddlesticks, and spoons. For over 40 years, Slim has performed at schools and festivals, hoedowns & throwdowns all over North America and around the world.
Slim is a master artist with the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts and full-time "Artist in Residence" with MD & PA State Arts Councils. He has had the privilege of performing with Pete Seeger & Tao Rodriguez, Ola Belle Reed & Family, John Jackson, Patsy Montana, Blind Rev. Pearly Brown, Ella Jenkins, Keter Betts, Jean Ritchie, John "Kinderman" Taylor, Ralph Lee Smith, Guy Davis and numerous other musicians at festivals, conferences, hoedowns, house concerts & street corners.
